Chikkaballapura (Karnataka): A 30-year-old woman was raped and murdered by her uncle in Karnataka's Chikkaballapura district. The victim was working in Kuwait as a maid and had returned home a few months ago due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The woman in order to go back to Kuwait had sought financial help from her uncle. According to the police, he persuaded her to go with him to Tirupati on October 4 and then to Penugonda.
Official sources in the police said the accused spiked her drink and raped her.

He later, allegedly took the victim to Hindupur on the pretext of arranging the money on October 5. Police believe that the victim was repeatedly raped during the trip.
On October 6 took her to Karakura of Bagepalli where he killed her in a building which was under construction. The body of the victim was discovered on October 7 by Bagepalli police.
Accused who was identified as Baba Fakruddin was taken into custody. The police have launched an investigation into the case.
