Kabul attack: Former MP Prem Singh seeks help from PM Modi

Days after the gunmen and suicide bombers attacked a Gurudwara at Kabul killing 27 people, Former MP from Patiala and spokesman of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Prem Singh Chandumajra has sought help from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In his letter addressed to PM, he has asked the government's help to ensure the safety of the Sikh community.

New Delhi: Former MP from Patiala and spokesman of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Prem Singh Chandumajra has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking help from the government after 27 worshippers,including women and children were killed in a gruesome attack on Gurudwara in the heart of Kabul. Expressing grief over the incident, Chandumajra has appealed to PM Modi to ensure safety of the minority community.

"I request PM Modi to talk to the Prime Minister of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani regarding the attack that targeted the Sikh community in Kabul. It should be ensured that people who were injured in the incident should receive proper treatment with adequate medical facilities",read the letter.

Condemning the brutal attack which was planned by gunmen and suicide bombers, External affairs Minister S Jaishankar has ensured all possible help to help the targeted victims. Taking it to twitter, Jaishankar had earlier said that Indian Embassy Kabul is in continuous touch with the families of those killed and injured.

In a recent tweet, Narendra Modi had also expressed condolences to those killed in the terror attack at a gurdwara in Kabul in Afghanistan. During his interaction with people of his Lok Sabha constituency, Varanasi, via video conferencing he said that he is deeply saddened by the terror attack.

All four terrorists were who attacked the Gurudwara were also killed by Afghan security forces. Amid the coronavirus outbreak, this attack has escalated country's problems as many people have returned from Iran without testing. There are chances that the country's health infrastructure would be clogged and seeing this UN has called for a ceasefire to fight against the pandemic.
