Jharkhand election: closed-door meeting between Cong and JMM

A closed-door meeting has been conducted between the Jharkhand Congress leaders RPN Singh, Umang Singhar and the JMM leader Hemant Soren in Delhi regarding the party alliance in the forthcoming assembly election. However, sources revealed that a deadlock between the parties over the assembly seats from Ghatshila, Sisai, Vishrampur, Jagannathpur, Pakur has occurred and the meeting became inconclusive.

Jharkhand election: closed-door meeting between Cong and JMM

New Delhi: Jharkhand Congress in-charge RPN Singh and, co-in-charge Umang Singhar have conducted a closed-door meeting in Delhi on November 5 with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren regarding the party alliance in the forthcoming Jharkhand Assembly election.

According to sources, there is a deadlock between the parties over the Assembly seats from Ghatshila, Sisai, Vishrampur, Jagannathpur, Pakur.

It seems that JMM wants to field it's party members in these five seats whereas Congress wants its senior leaders to contest from these seats in the election.

Sources revealed that Congress wants to give it's candidate Dadai Dubey from the seat of Vishrampur, but JMM has opposed.

Besides this, Currently, Alamgir Alam is the leader of Congress Legislature Party from Pakur, is an MLA there.

On the other hand, Akil Akhtar from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha stood second, but JMM has claimed this seat for Akil Akhtar who was the former MLA there.

According to sources, the meeting between Hemant Soren, RPN Singh and Umang Singhar was inconclusive as the leaders were not reached to a single decision.

After concluding the meeting with Hemant Soren, Congress leaders Umang Singhar and RPN Singh have met Ahmed Patel at the later's residence.

According to sources, the Congress wants to field its senior candidates in all of these five seats but not being able to proceed.

It remains to be seen whether the Congress surrenders in front of JMM or being the oldest party of the country show it impacts upon JMM.

However, if everything goes well then it will be JMM 45, Congress can contest 30, Left 4, RJD 2 seats in the Jharkhand Mahagathbandhan.
