New Delhi: Justifying its review petition on the Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind on Monday said it was done to ensure peace and harmony in the country.
Speaking to ETV Bharat here after filing the petition, Ejaas Maqbool, advocate for the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, said it's a sensitive matter and we feel justice has not been done to a party involved in the case.
He said Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind respects the order of the Supreme Court but the constitution of the country provides a chance to get an apex court order reviewed in case a party remains unsatisfied.
"Everybody has to obey the orders of the Supreme Court and it has to be respected but at the same time, under article 137 of the constitution, a litigant has the right to approach the Supreme Court for pointing out an arent error on the face of the record," he said.
