Jamaat's decision to donate blood plasma appreciable: BJP

The BJP, it seems, has taken a U-turn on its outlook for Tablighi Jamaat by announcing that Jamaat's appeal to its members to donate blood plasma as an 'incredible step'. people, who have recovered from coronavirus, to donate their blood plasma, should be appericiated by "very single citizen of the country".

New Delhi: Terming Tablighi Jamaat's appeal to its members, who have recovered from coronavirus, to donate blood plasma for medicinal work as "an incredible step", the BJP on Tuesday said "it should be appreciated every single citizen of the country".

In a video message to ETV Bharat here, BJP spokesperson Zafar Islam said coronavirus does not recognizes religion, the family one belongs to or any other thing before attacking the person.

"...when Tablighi Jamaat did not pay heed to the authorities, the virus affected them," he said, adding that by deciding to donate their blood plasma to help others is "incredible".

The BJP praising Tablighi Jamaat is a complete U-turn from its previous stand on the organisation and its people, who would generally be criticized by the saffron party leaders on every possible occasion.

Zafar said that by deciding to donate their blood plasma, the Tablighi Jamaat people have demonstrated the teaching of Islam - which is to help others.
