New Delhi: India on Thursday registered the highest ever single-day COVID-19 tests of 8.3 lakh.
With this, the total number of COVID tests being conducted across India touches to 2.68 crores. The Union Health Ministry aims to achieve 10 lakh tests per day in the coming days.
Significantly, in the first week of July, the test's capacity per day was 2.3 lakh which subsequently registered an increasing trend with more than 6.3 lakh test conducted between August 5 to 11.
From merely one laboratory in January, India at present has 1,433 laboratories both Government (947) and private (486).
56,383 patients have been recovered in the last 24 hours taking the total recovery number to 17 lakh. India COVID fatality rate also witnessed a sharp increase with 1.96 per cent.
