Hyderabad (Telangana): The novel Coronavirus has drastically changed the lives of people across the globe. People already have started to quarantine themselves, taking precautions to stay away from the deadly virus. Many organisations have given permission to their employees to work from home, making health the topmost priority. But this isn’t it! The Indian Council of Medical Research recently declared that India is at stage two of the Corona pandemic. Let's understand what does this imply.
The Indian Medical Council has divided the spread of coronavirus into four stages. The first stage includes imported cases when people having travel history from abroad tests positive which is the initial stage. In the first stage, cases are imported from other countries and people who have travelled abroad test positive to the virus.
The second stage begins when the local transmission of the virus from the affected person begins. This means that the person who is infected with the virus tends to spread the virus in his close circle, relatives and people with whom they come in contact with. Right now, India is at this stage.

Community transmission begins at the third stage when the transmission of the virus takes place at the community level. A person can test positive for the virus even if the person has not been exposed to the infected virus or has not travelled to the infected country. At this stage, it becomes difficult to detect the source of the virus. Italy, China and France are at stage 3.
The epidemic is the last and final stage of coronavirus. At this stage, the virus spreads with no clear endpoint. This is referred to as the worst and final stage of the virus attack, where it is considered an epidemic. Epidemic means widespread of a disease in a country at a particular time.
Though the situation of people’s health is at toss right now, it’s important that one should not stress out about the situation and panic. Precautionary measures like staying at home, washing hands frequently, saying no to public gatherings or places, not touching the face, eyes and mouth, sneezing into the elbow and maintaining distance with people should be followed. Eating foods that boost immunity is also one added way to fight the virus.
