1. PM Modi to lay foundation stone of new Parliament building today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Thursday lay the foundation stone of the new Parliament building in which Lok Sabha will be three times of its existing size and Rajya Sabha will be substantially bigger. A PMO release said that new building is an intrinsic part of the vision of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' and will be a landmark opportunity to build peoples' Parliament for the first time after independence, one which will match the needs and aspirations of 'New India' in the 75th anniversary of independence in 2022.

2. Rajnath Singh to address ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus today

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday will address the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus) on the occasion of its 10th anniversary.

3. Karnataka Assembly passes anti-cow slaughter bill; Congress' Siddaramaiah calls for CLP meet today

Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Siddaramaiah has called for a legislative party meeting on Thursday morning. The meeting has been called for 10.30 am today. According to sources, the meeting is likely to discuss the cow-slaughter-bill that was passed in the Karnataka assembly on Wednesday amid uproar and walkout by opposition parties, Congress and the JD(S).

4. 37 DDC constituencies to go to polls in fifth phase in J-K

A total of 37 constituencies will witness polling in the fifth phase of District Development Council (DDC) elections in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. Polling will also be held for 58 vacant sarpanch and 218 vacant panch seats on Thursday. State Election Commissioner (SEC) KK Sharma said the polling will be held between 7 am and 2 pm in 37 constituencies - 17 in Kashmir and 20 in Jammu divisions.
