Amid ongoing protest by the farmers at Delhi's borders, the BJP-led central government has agreed for talks with Farmers' Union on today. Meanwhile, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election will be held today. The polling would begin at 7 AM and come to an end at 6 PM.   • Central govt to hold talks with Farmers' Union today
    Govt to hold talks with Farmers' Union

The central government has agreed for talks with Farmers' Union today. According to sources, parleys will be held at 3 PM.

The development comes as farmers continued to hold protests at Delhi's borders for the fourth day over the controversial agriculture reforms that Parliament had passed in September.

  • Hyderabad local body polls to be held today

After massive campaigning by the regional and national political parties, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) election will be held today.

The polling would begin at 7 AM and come to an end at 6 PM.

As many as 74,44,260 voters would exercise their franchise using ballot papers to elect their representatives in the 150-ward Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.

  • Month-long active TB case detection drive to start today in Karnataka

A month-long active tuberculosis detection drive will be taken up across Dakshina Kannada and other parts of Karnataka from today.

As many as 1,398 health workers, including ASHAs and ANMs, will be involved in the exercise. Two health workers will form a team that will screen 500 people. As many as 699 teams have been formed, said District Tuberculosis Officer.

The busy Car Street in Karnataka's Mangaluru, which had been closed for traffic for the last two months for road development and associated works, will be opened for two-wheelers on Tuesday, according to Mangaluru City South MLA D. Vedavyasa Kamath.

Mangaluru Smart City Ltd. has taken up the road development project between the Venkataramana Temple Square and Balaji Junction at an estimated cost of Rupees 17 crores under the Smart City Mission.

  • Medical colleges in Puducherry to reopen today

After a gap of nine months, all medical colleges in the Union Territory will re-open from today and resume classes in a phased manner after putting in place safety protocols as mandated by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

The colleges remained closed ever since the nation-wide lockdown was imposed in March in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.

In view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the Rajasthan government has decided to impose a night curfew from today within urban limits of 13 district headquarters.

The curfew will be imposed from 8 pm to 6 am in Kota, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, Ajmer, Alwar, Bhilwara, Nagore, Pali, Tonk, Sikar and Ganganagar.

After remaining in the denial mode for 14 months, former Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar is expected to join the Shiv Sena today.

This will be Matondkar's second party after she left the Congress in a huff on September 10 last year, post-defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections at the hands of Bharatiya Janata Party's Gopal Shetty in Mumbai North constituency.
