1. After board exam cancellation, SC likely to deal with the issue of re-examination

The Supreme Court will deal with the issues of option of re-examination for class XII, internal assessment, date of results and status of re-examination keeping in mind the COVID-19 situation in different states. It had earlier sought to know from the Centre and the CBSE as to when the results would be out as also the beginning of the academic session of 2020-21.

2. PM Modi to launch 'Atma Nirbhar Uttar Pradesh Rojgar Abhiyan' today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch 'Atma Nirbhar Uttar Pradesh Rojgar Abhiyan' at 11 am on Friday through video conferencing in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The initiative is intensely focused on providing employment, promote local entrepreneurship and create partnerships with industrial associations and other organisations to provide employment opportunities.

3. SC to hear a plea by Tablighi Jamaat members

The apex court will hear a plea by 34 foreign nationals challenging Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) order blacklisting them, due to their links with Tablighi Jamaat congregation. The petition seeks SC to quash orders blacklisting nearly 3,500 foreign nationals as it violates Article 21, and sought its help to allow their travel back to their home countries.

4. Central team to review COVID-19 situation in 3 states

In an effort to help the state governments in containing the COVID-19 cases, a high-powered central team led by Lav Agarwal, joint secretary in the Health Ministry will visit Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana from Friday to review the situation. The central team will interact with state-officials and coordinate with them to strengthen the ongoing efforts for management of COVID-19.

5. Indians stranded in Pakistan start returning

At least 250 Indian nationals, stranded in Pakistan, will now be returning home as the federal government finalised the schedule for their repatriation. Pakistan government has also notified the immigration officials to reach the Wagah border to ensure smooth repatriation of the Indian nationals.

6. Congress to observe 'Shaheedon ka Salam Diwas'

The Indian National Congress (INC) will observe ‘Shaheedon Ko Salam Diwas’ today to pay tribute to soldiers who were martyred in the Galway valley clash with Chinese troops. India lost 20 of its soldiers in the violent face-off and 10 Indian soldiers were also held captive and later released.

7. SC to hear PIL seeking stay on CA opt-out exam scheme

The apex court will hear a petition seeking more centres and a stay on the ‘opt-out’ scheme for about 4.67 lakh CA aspirants for examination to be conducted between July 29 and August 16 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The plea states that notification issued by ICAI violates the fundamental rights of students.

8. BJP to hold virtual rally in Madhya Pradesh

BJP president JP Nadda will address the people of Madhya Pradesh through virtual rally today. Bharatiya Janata Party in a tweet said that Nadda will address 'Madhya Pradesh Jan Samvad Rally' at 11 am via video conferencing.
