Banglore (Karnataka):Two graduates of Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mubeen Masood from Kashmir and Bilal Abidi from Lucknow, have developed an e-learning app that allows students and teachers to cut through problems of internet issues and make the experience of virtual teaching as close to a real classroom as possible.

'Wise App' is 2G-friendly and runs on low-speed internet and is easy to use.

The duo said that internet speed has always been a challenge for students and teachers and they had to struggle during online classes.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Mubeen Masood said that most of the population of India lives in rural areas where the internet is usually slow and it is difficult for students to study online and in such cases "Wise App" is effective and helpful.

"It also enables teachers to send and receive assignments, facilitate discussions, share material, and receive automated attendance reports, all at one place,” he further added.

Further talking about the app, Bilal Abidi said that the application is extremely simple to use and doesn’t expect the teacher to be tech-savvy. Any school, institute or individual can just download the application from the play store and start using without any hassle.

He further added that they have made it ad-free so that students do not have any difficulty in acquiring knowledge and the app has been provided free of cost.

Bilal said that in the last few years, he has developed this app after working hard with his colleague Mubeen Masood and he has spent the expenses incurred during this period out of his own pocket.

The app is safe and secure as the date such as mobile number is not shared with anyone anywhere.

Union Minister for Education Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank also lauded the duo for developing a mobile application that will help students take online classes using 2G internet speed.

Pertinent to mention, high-speed 4G internet service has been suspended in the Valley for over a year now and students had been facing difficulties taking online classes on 2G internet.
