Hunar Haat: Surge in visitors after PM Modi's visit

Days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit to Delhi's Hunar Haat, the number of visitors have seen a rise by 60 per cent. Union Minister Abbas Naqvi has said that after PM's visit, more than 1.5 million people have visited Hunar Haat which has given a moral boost to the craftsmen. After Delhi, Ranchi and Chandigarh will also organize Hunar Haat.

New Delhi: Union Minister Abbas Naqvi informed on Sunday that days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited hunar Haat and relished the taste of 'Litti Chokha', the number of visitors has seen a surge by almost 60%. Naqvi said that more than 1.5 million people have come to Hunar Haat following Modi's visit. Organised at Delhi's India Gate, Hunar Haat which started from February 13th has ended on February 23.

Mentioning about Hunar Haat on the 62nd edition of 'Maan Ki Baat' on Sunday, PM Modi said that Hunar Haat has given a lot of encouragement to craftsmen and architects. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and several Union Ministers had also accompanied Prime Minister Narendra Modi which gave a morale boost to the organisers.

''Hunar Haat is becoming an employment exchange centre for various artisans, craftsmen and architects. With the help of this event, the organisers have also received thousands of crores of foreign orders. Now, artisans and craftsmen are also being taught how to pack the goods in an interesting way and have also been included on the Gem Portal'', said Union Minister Naqvi.

Ranchi and Chandigarh next:

At least more than 250 stalls were put in Delhi's Hunar Haat. Seeing the success of Delhi, Ranchi is all set to organise Hunar Haat from February 29 which will be inaugurated by Union Minister Arjun Munda. After Ranchi, Chandigarh will also organize its Hunar Haat from March 13.

Union Minister Naqvi said that as per the wish of late Arun Jaitley, this time Hunar Haat was shifted from Baba Kharak Singh Marg to India Gate and it was very successful. People not only tasted the delicious cuisines of different states but also visiting the stalls of handmade cars, craft cars and handicrafts.
