New Delhi: Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi Thursday said that 'Hunar Haat' has proved to be a mega mission of empowerment of indigenous legacy of artisans.

Naqvi was speaking to media after inaugurating the 20th 'Hunar Haat' along with Union ministers Piyush Goyal and Hardeep Singh Puri at India Gate lawns, New Delhi on Thursday.

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, "This ' Hunar Haat', based on the theme of 'Kaushal Ko Kaam' is being organised till February 23, 2020, where master artisans, craftsmen and culinary experts including more than 50 per cent women, from across the country are participating."

He added that about 3 lakh such artisans have been provided employment opportunities through 'Hunar Haat in last three years and theses beneficiaries include a large number of women artisans.

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi further informed that more than 250 stalls have been set up here at the 'Hunar Haat' where craftsmen and artisans from across the country are participating. He said that along with these people can also visit 'Bawarchikhana' where they can taste cuisines from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.

The next 'Hunar Haat' will be organised at Ranchi from February 29 to March 8 and in Chandigarh from March 13 to March 22, 2020.
