Hyderabad:On December 10, the world commemorates International Human Rights day, as on this day the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in the year 1948. The UDHR is a document that delivers rights that every individual is entitled too regardless of caste, creed, gender and religion.

This year the United Nations agency is themed as, "Stand Up for Human Rights", that aims to celebrate the potential of youth as constructive agents of change, amplify their voices, and engage a broad range of global audiences in the promotion and protection of rights.

Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary General in his message on Monday said, "Globally, young people are marching, organising, and speaking out: For the right to a healthy environment, for the equal rights of women and girls, to participate in decision-making, and to express their opinions freely.”

The campaign was created to encourage, galvanise and showcase how the young across the world have stood for their rights and battled atrocities against them.
