New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a 7-day visit to the US, is scheduled to address more than 50,000 Indian-American at the 'Howdy Modi' event in Houston, Texas.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, citizens expressed the importance of India-US relation economically and claimed that it is important for the Indian PM to be welcomed properly abroad as he represents the Indian flag in International relations.

Some claimed that Indian diaspora is getting recognised like never before, for their contribution, under the current NDA government.

The mega event will witness leaders of the two largest democracies, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Trump, sharing a stage before the largest gathering ever over 50,000 Indian-Americans for an elected foreign leader visiting the US.

The roughly three-hour-long event is being organised at the sprawling NRG Football Stadium, one of the largest in the US, which has served as a venue for some of the most impressive events starring Beyonce, Metallica, to name a few.

The event at the NRG Stadium will be followed by a luncheon meeting with elected officials and a community reception at the same venue.

PM Modi will leave for New York the same day. On September 23, he will attend the UN Secretary-General's Climate Action Summit at the UN building.

He has a packed schedule during his week-long visit to the US to attend the UNGA which includes multi-lateral engagements, interaction with the business community, bilateral meetings as also address to the Indian diaspora.
