New Delhi: In a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19, the Union Home Ministry (MHA) on Sunday directed chief secretaries of States and UTs to take effective measures in prisons and correctional homes.
Aware of the fact that many policemen are getting affected by COVID-19, the MHA has also asked chief secretaries and DGs to prepare the second line of defence.
Highlighting guidelines and protocols on COVID-19 for police personnel managing public, the MHA has asked the head of police forces to consider the option of 'Work from Home' for personnel not deployed on frontline duty.
The MHA, in a message, has also asked the state authorities to collect the information of detained people about their travel history, cough, fever symptoms or recent contact with a positive case.
