Hoshangabad (MP):The Madhya Pradesh government has issued a high alert, as Narmada river is flowing a foot above the danger mark due to heavy rains in Hoshangabad district on Tuesday.
Moreover, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in many districts of the state including Indore, Dhar, Khandwa, Khargone, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Barwani, and Burhanpur.
A team of officials are closely monitoring the rising water levels in the river, round the clock, and is ready to deal with any emergency situation.
According to the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) sources, villages under Seoni Malwa in Hoshangabad might face the threat of inundation as the water levels in the Narmada kept rising. Following this, the officials have deployed a team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to carry out relief and rescue operations.
