Bhavnagar: Government schools in India usually depict a dull picture with dilapidated buildings and poor basic facilities. However, this government school in Gujarat's Kardej village has embraced digital tech, education through portal and QR code equipped ID cards.
According to reports, the government primary girls school is situated on a land gifted by the royal family and has become a model digital school in India. School teachers have played an massive role in its development.
Besides, this is the first government school in the state to incorporate web portal technology, wherein all study materials can be accessed online. The school has no roll-call and instead has a QR code-aided attendance system. Scanning of the code in ID cards marks the attendance as well as sends the information to respective parents through a mobile app.
The movement of students is traced in such a manner and CCTV cameras in the premises are connected to the portal thus keeping children under surveillance for most of their class hours.
