New Delhi: Asserting that government would do everything possible to ensure the safety and security of all people in the country, the BJP on Saturday said that the party government in Uttar Pradesh has already announced to put all rape cases in fast track courts to ensure speedy trial and timely justice.

"The UP government has already announced setting up of fast track courts to deal with crime against women," BJP national spokesperson Zafar Islam told ETV Bharat here.

Commenting on Unnao rape case wherein the young rape victim was set ablaze allegedly by men who were out on bail in the case, the BJP leader said the government would do everything to ensure that the culprits get harsh punishment.

He also chose to describe the rising crimes against women as a social problem and said it should not be politicized.

"Crimes against women must not be politicized. People have different opinions on the Hyderabad police encounter, which is perfectly fine but such cases must not be politicized," he emphasized.

Reacting to the Union government's decision to remove seats reserved for the people of Anglo-Indian origin in the Lok Sabha, Islam said the government does not take any decision without analyzing it.
