In order to demonstrate the problems caused by the population explosion, 21 chariots also continued on the march. The yatra went through Modinagar, Ghaziabad and ended on Monday after coming to Delhi. Giriraj Singh was accompanied by some other leaders of the BJP in the padayatra.

Giriraj Singh said that population is increasing rapidly in the country and they demand that the population control law should be made soon. In 1979, China enacted a population control law and it succeeded in curbing the population of 50 to 60 crores. In 1978 India's GDP was higher than China however population control law was not made in India and it continued to grow and there were limited resources, so China's GDP exceeded India.

He said that 9 to 11 children are born every minute in China, whereas in India 29 to 33 children are born every minute.

Giriraj Singh said that the country needs a population control law. The scarcity of resources will go on in times to come. Population law is very important for social harmony, the matter of population is not political in any way but a social issue, he said.
