Govt fighting opposition instead of China, Covid-19: Patel

Calling it a 'diversionary tactic', Patel said to the media, "friends of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah came to my house. I replied all the questions that were asked."

ED records the statement of Congress leader under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. He will be questioned again on Tuesday.

Later, Congress released a statement of Ahmed Patel, stating, "If you were to do an analysis, you'll see a clear pattern over the past many years. Every time there is Rajya Sabha, Lok Sabha, Vidhan Sabha elections, or the government is facing a crisis, one or more investigating Agencies become active on the instructions of one individual."

"Unfortunately, this time Modi government's failure to manage economic, health and national security crisis is now so huge, that none of the agencies can help in the narrative," he added.

The remarks by the Congress leader came soon after the team of ED left from his residence around 8 p.m. Congress is day by day sharpening it's attack on the Government over the Indo-China border standoff.

"Nonetheless, our conscience is clear. We have nothing to hide, nor are we afraid to criticize and expose the government's failures and their past corruption," said Ahmed Patel.

The ED had last year also questioned Patel's son Faisal Patel and son-in-law and advocate Irfan Siddiqui in connection with the probe.
