New Delhi: Amid a possible solution of the decades-old Indo-Naga peace talks, the Naga insurgent outfits National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) on Tuesday criticized Nagaland Governor RN Ravi for tagging the organization as an “underground group.”
The NSCN has also taken a strong note of an order issued by Nagaland Chief Secretary Temjen Toy asking all the state government employees to fill up a self-declaration form to declare their relation with the Naga “underground groups”.
“This is considered to be one retrograde step worked out insidiously to cripple the Naga political movement and forcefully bring the Naga political issue under the purview of ‘law and order’ issue,” the NSCN said in a statement.
“NSCN denounce the directives which are nothing but desperate attempts to browbeat Naga freedom fighters into submission. Such a despicable directive stands incompatible with the spirit of the Indo-Naga peace process,” the NSCN said.
