Referring to the Shimla agreement, Khan took a jibe at the present Congress leadership for calling it a UN matter. He also added that Kashmir is a bilateral issue since 1973. Talking about the benefits of the move, Khan said, "Article 370 was neither under the jurisdiction of Supreme Court nor CAG, it only helped politicians and civil servants. This article never allowed common people to ask questions from the established authority." On the clampdown, he said that whatever is happening in the valley right now has been done to safeguard people from cross-border terrorism.
