Pali (Rajasthan): Former Congress MLA Bheemraj Bhati was on Wednesday attacked by a group of unidentified men while he was out inspecting the work being done under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) in Kalali village of Rajasthan's Pali district.
Bhati sustained injuries in the attack and was rushed to the local hospital by the villagers and MGNREGA workers after which he was admitted to Bangar Government Hospital where is undergoing treatment.
Bhati, had, for the past 10 days been monitoring the work being done under MGNREGA in the area, and on Wednesday morning, when he went to Kalali village for his field visit, the senior Congress leader was attacked by some unidentified village youth who later fled the spot.
After receiving information about the incident, senior police officials reached the spot and have registered a case against unidentified men.
