Himachal minister unveils package to boost eco-tourism

Himachal Pradesh forest minister Rakesh Pathania launched packages for the construction of a guest house, inspection and gang huts in the state to boost eco-tourism. Pathania said that the guest house will be dedicated to the famed artist Shobha Singh.

Kangra: Minister of Forest, Youths Services and Sports Rakesh Pathania unveiled projects worth Rs 1 crore 14 lakh in Himachal Pradesh's Andretta to boost eco-tourism. Jaisinghpur MLA Ravindra Dhiman was also present at the occasion.

Pathania laid the foundation stone of a Rs 50 lakh rest house and Rs 39 lakh inspection huts. The minister also said that Rs 25 lakh would be spent for the construction of Gang huts, adding that these steps have been taken for developing eco-tourism in the state.

"The region is blessed with bounty of nature and there is vast potential for the development eco-tourism. This would create self-employment opportunities for the local youth," the minister added.

Pathania said, "Andertta is an international tourist place and is a land of artists. Rest house will be known by the name of renowned artist Shobha Singh. It will be dedicated to the eminent artist Shobha Singh and a statue will also be installed there."

"The construction of the guest house will be completed within a year. Cultural club and a multipurpose sports complex along with Fine Arts College will also be built," the state sports minister said.

Attacks opposition party

Coming down heavily upon Congress, the BJP leader said, "No one was prepared for a pandemic but Congress has behaved in such a way as if they have dealt with such an unprecedented crisis for years. Had Rahul Gandhi been our Prime Minister, millions would have died of COVID.

The minister also asserted that BJP will form the next government in Himachal Pradesh as Congress is dealing with its factional feuds.

"There is a fight going on between 14 Congress leaders for the post of Chief Minister. Congress should organise a cricket match to fix the issue," he added.
