Three days ago Palani told his wife that the situation along the border was improving and there is nothing to worry about as the reduction of deployment of troops is underway.
"He was away when our newly built residence's housewarming ceremony was held and now he would never come to live with us," said his bereaved wife Vanathi Devi.
As Palani was the only bread earner of the family, his father-in-law has urged the government to honour martyr's sacrifice and he should be given full military honours.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edapadi K. Palanisamy and Leader of Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly M K Stalin also offered their condolences to the martyr's family.
They paid their tributes by saluting the courage and valour of Pazhani for his ultimate sacrifice.
The family also urged the state government to bring the mortal remains of Palani in a day or two for the last rites which will be performed at Kadukkalur.
