New Delhi:The experts have hailed the BJP government's initiatives for the Act East policy. The saffron brigade, in its manifesto "Sankalpit Bharat Sashakt Bharat", said that 14 more integrated check posts will be constructed by 2024 to increase border trade with the neighbouring countries along the eastern border.

In the past five years, the Modi-government has been trying to strengthen the Act East policy by boosting the overall development of the north-eastern states. PM Modi has said, "The north-east region has become the prime focus of India's Act East policy."
Diwan also added that the initiatives should be taken to set up integrated check posts along the Arunachal Pradesh border too so that trade with Myanmar and Bhutan further boosts up.
