Speaking on an FIR filed against him and 400 others by the UP Police for violating Section 144 during his visit to the Boolgrahi village in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district on Sunday, he said, "hundreds of people are protesting in support of the boys who are arrested for the gangrape and murder of the girl. They are getting the government's support and one can understand that the country which is holding meetings in support of criminals will go in which way."

Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad and founder of Azad Samaj Party slammed Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati for not coming openly on the Hathras gangrape case and said that these are the only people who have made her the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh for four times and now she can't see their pain.

"If she could see their pain then we might have fought this battle more strongly but the relation between Dalits and Mayawati is over. That's the reason she does not talk about poor Dalits," he added.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Chandrashekhar Azad said that in his letter to the President, he also demanded a time-bound enquiry by a panel of retired Supreme Court judges into the Hathras incident.
