New Delhi: Former Union Minister in the UPA regime and Dalit rights activist Krishna Tirath on Friday quit the BJP and rejoined the Congress after a gap of four years.
Minister Krishna Tirath rejoins Congress With Krishna's induction into the party, the Congress is expecting that it might attract Dalit vote in Delhi. There are speculations that she might be fielded from North-West Lok Sabha constituency.
A Minister of state in the Dr. Manmohan Singh Government of the Congress at the Centre, Tirath had joined the BJP in 2015.
A two-time MP from Delhi, Tirath had contested Delhi Assembly polls in February from Patel Nagar seat. However, she was defeated by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Hazari Lal Chauhan.
