Arakalagudu (Hassan, Karnataka): Relief aid that has been delayed for over a year due to negligence of tobacco board officials, has been finally handed over to the families of deceased workers.
About 32 tobacco growers in the Ramanathapuram Tobacco Auction Market jurisdiction have been deceased for almost a year yet no relief has been given to their near and dear ones. The Tobacco Board and officials had delayed the allocation of funds from the Farmers' Welfare Fund to the families of the deceased without sending the relevant documents to the central office.
ETV Bharat reported this issue. According to the latest reports, the authorities have moved and allotted relief aid to the deceased workers' families, all within 10 days.
