ETV Bharat Impact: Odisha ailing man to undergo treatment in Visakhapatnam

A man suffering from intestinal perforation in Odisha's Malkangiri district will now undergo treatment in Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam. Due to ETV Bharat's initiative, Chief district medical officer (CDMO) of Malkangiri took note of Bagchi's plight and is providing him with medical aid.

Malkangiri: An ailing man suffering from intestinal perforation in Odisha's Malkangiri district will now undergo treatment at a private hospital in Andhra Pradesh's Visakhapatnam due to the initiative of ETV Bharat.

The man identified as Debendra Bagchi is suffering from intestinal perforation, his son Tamal Bagchi posted a video on social media seeking help from district administration for his treatment.

It was ETV Bharat's efforts that led to Chief district medical officer (CDMO) of Malkangiri to take note of Bagchi's plight.

The CDMO contacted ETV Bharat and informed they are ready to provide all types of medical assistance to the patient.

According to reports, Bagchi's family had already spent 5 lakh rupees for treatment and the hospital asked for an additional amount of Rs 2 lakh for further treatment.
