New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday heard a bunch of petitions challenging the electoral bonds.

Advocate Prashant Bhushan said, "We are not criticising the electoral bonds but we are opposed to anonymity. We want full disclosure and transparency."

Meanwhile, senior advocate Rakesh Dwivedi represented the Election Commission in the top court and said the commission did not have any problem with electoral bonds but the issue was lack of transparency.

He added, "The Election Commission wanted more disclosure and it sought the amendments regarding anonymous donations."

Representing the Union government, Attorney General of India KK Venugopal said that the electoral bonds were necessary to combat the menace of black money.

The hearing in the matter will continue tomorrow.
