Hyderabad: A noble gesture by Ramoji sponsored Eenadu media publications to help the victims of Hudhud cyclone has brought a huge relief to Andhra Pradesh. After providing 121 constructed houses to the Alappuzha flood-victims, Telangana based Eenadu group once again came forward to help the cyclone-affected victims in Andhra Pradesh.
The media group handed over the keys of the houses on Thursday that were constructed to rehabilitate the victims. Srikakulam Eenadu unit In-charge D.V Ramana, Santa Bommali Tahsildar S Rambabu and several Mandal level officials were present on the occasion.
After cyclone Hudhud left behind a huge trail of destruction in Andhra Pradesh in 2014, 'Eenadu Relief Fund' had then decided to build 'Hudhud Cyclone Rehabilitation Colony'. A total of 64 pre-fabricated houses with all the facilities were handed over to the victims of the devastating cyclone by the District Collector J. Nivas.
The houses were built in Santabommali Zone of Srikakulam district with the help of donations which Eenadu had received back in 2014.
Expressing his gratitude to the Ramoji group, District Collector J Nivas said, "The victims lost their dwellings and belongings in the cyclone. But what Ramoji group has done for them is really commendable. The quality of the building materials used in the construction was also reviewed thoroughly during the construction."
Echoing same sentiments, Duvvada Srinivas, Coordinator of YSRCP also thanked Ramoji Rao, owner of Eenadu Publications, who took this initiative to build a housing colony. Srinivas termed this gesture as 'inspiring' and 'humane'.
