Eenadu bags Chanakya award for 'Print Media of the Year'

Eenadu newspaper has bagged the prestigious 'Chanakya' award in the 'Print Media of the Year, 2019' category presented by the Public Relations Council of India. The award was presented by Karnataka home minister Basavaraj Somappa Bommai and received by the Eenadu Andhra Pradesh editor M Nageshwar Rao at "PR Beyond 20:20" function held in Bengaluru on Friday.

Bengaluru (Karnataka): Eenadu - the largest circulated Telugu newspaper in the state of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana - has bagged the prestigious 'Chanakya' award in the 'Print Media of the Year, 2019' category presented by the Public Relations Council of India.

The award was presented by Karnataka home minister Basavaraj Somappa Bommai and received by the Eenadu Andhra Pradesh editor M Nageshwar Rao at "PR Beyond 20:20" function held in Bengaluru on Friday.

"This award is for 25,000 staff members of Ramoji group, and lakhs of its subscribers and millions of Eenadu readers. All credit goes to them. It is an honour for the Eenadu newspaper to receive an award from a professional organisation called PRCI. This is a very reputed organisation and we are very happy to have received this award, " said Rao.

He added, "Eenadu is the heart and soul of Telugu people."

While appreciating Eenadu's performance and contribution in the communication sector, Bommai said, "maintaining of public relations is one of the most difficult things in present times...you are doing a wonderful job in the field of media to build communication."

"Your entire team has worked hard to deserve this award, " the home minister told Rao.

As per the Indian Readership Survey (IRS) Q1 2019, Eenadu ranks fourth among the Indian language dailies with a total readership of 1,56,73,000.
