New Delhi: The Congress party, on Tuesday, appealed to the Center and State Government of Delhi to come forward to ensure peace and harmony in the National Capital while rising above partisan politics.
Congress Chief Spokesperson, Randeep Singh Surjewala said, "There is no place for violence in Mahatma Gandhi's India. People are hoping that the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Chief Minister of Delhi to rise above the political partnership and views, and to come forward and ensure peace while becoming the leaders of the society rather than the leaders of their own political parties."
As the communal violence occurring in northeast Delhi has continued for the third day, Surjewala said that the unabated violence and incidents of stone-pelting and murders in the national capital has shattered the nation and stern action should be taken against the culprits.
