New Delhi: For the second consecutive day, the Border Security Force (BSF) saw a drop in the number of active cases of Covid-19, as 13 of its personnel have recovered from the virus.
"Since yesterday, 13 (Tripura-10, Delhi-3) earlier tested Covid-19 positive BSF personnel have been discharged from hospitals after being tested negative. They have been put under quarantine as per the protocol. Apart from 10 BSF personnel in Tripura, 3 family members have also recovered and discharged from hospital," a BSF release stated.
However, the security force has reported 11 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours since yesterday (May 14). With this, the total number of active cases in the BSF has shot up to 290.
Meanwhile, 14 new positive cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The maximum rise in cases — eight — over the last 24 hours has been reported from the Mumbai airport guarding unit.
Similarly, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) said that three new positive cases of Covid-19 have been reported in their unit. "The total number of cases in CRPF across the country has reached 254, out of which 248 are active positive cases, five recovered, and one deceased," CRPF stated.
And as for Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), two of its personnel tested coronavirus positive in the last 24 hours and 11 have recovered from the disease, bringing the total cases down to 151 from 158.
