IYC organises peace march to restore harmony

Condemning the communal riots in Delhi, Congress party took out a peace march giving out a message of brotherhood in the national capital. Party also accused the Centre for instigating violence and for deteriorating law and order

New Delhi: Indian Youth Congress members took out a peace march, Sadbhavna Yatra, on Friday, to restore harmony in Delhi after the communal violence occurred in the national capital recently.

The peace march, led by Youth Congress President, Srinivas BV, started from Raisina Road and got culminated at Gandhi Smriti, Tees January Marg, Delhi. The members of Youth Congress also got dressed up as Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian, symbolising the peace and brotherhood between the four religions.

While speaking to the media, Srinivas said, "The recent communal violence in Delhi, instigated by the government and it's leaders have triggered instability and loss of trust among the people. Through this peace march, we want to spread a message of brotherhood and communal harmony in the national capital.

"He also accused the government for supporting it's own party leaders who were 'involved' in instigation of the communal riots occurred recently in Delhi. He said, "The law and order of this country comes under Home Minister Amit Shah. He could've stopped this violence within half an hour, but he did not. They should've register an FIR against their leaders who instigated this violence. Instead, they are now giving him special protection force.

The opposition is continuously raising the issue of Delhi violence in the Parliament. On Friday, all the MPs of the party, including Congress former President Rahul Gandhi, protected in the premises of Parliament, demanding to have a debate over the matter during session, in the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah.
