New Delhi: Delhi's Rouse Avenue court on Thursday granted bail to Congress leader Jairam Ramesh in a defamation case filed by NSA Ajit Doval's son Vivek Doval. The criminal defamation case was filed against the Congress leader as well as 'The Caravan' magazine for an article published in January.

In the complaint, Doval said that the press conference jointly conducted by Jairam Ramesh and the 'The Caravan' magazine was repeating the allegations levelled in the magazine and it was an attempt to target his father.

He said that the article was published in January with a headline of 'D company' and a picture of Ajit Doval. "Baseless allegations have been put on me and my father in the article which indicates the ill intentions of the author to defame me and my family," he added.

The Congress leader, on the other hand, denied all the allegations and said that the press conference was based on facts.
