Gujrat: Cop appeals people to stay inside homes in Ramzan, promises to relish sheer korma on Eid

A policeman in Ahmedabad, one of the hotspots of coronavirus, has appealed people to follow lockdown rules during the month of Ramzan. The cop in a sweet gesture greeted the people with “Assalaam Alaykum" and appealed them to maintain social distancing which can help contain the spread of coronavirus.

Ahmedabad (Gujarat): In a heartwarming gesture, a police sub-inspector of Kagdapith police station P K Gohil has appealed the the residents of Danilimda, Kalupur, Jamalpur and Behrampur localities of the city not to venture out and remain safe inside their homes during the month of Ramazan. He also appealed the people to pray to Allah to save the world from the pandemic, responding to which people said "Aameen".

He also appealed to the people to offer Namaz from within their homes and not in mosques and follow social distancing even at the time of Sehri and Iftar.

Addressing people at Jethalal Ni Chaali of Behrampura, which has become the epicentre of coronavirus, PK Gohil said his appeal was not to the Muslims only but also to followers of all religions not to gather at one place during any religious or social event.

“We are all Indians first and our priority should be to defeat coronavirus. If we follow social distancing during the month of Ramzan, then by the grace of God the pandemic will be eradicated by Eid. I will then celebrate Eid with you and relish sheer korma at your home”, said Gohil.

The number of positive coronavirus cases in the state had increased more than 5.45 times in the last two weeks. On April 14, the number of corona positive patients in Gujarat was 650 which increased to 3,548 of which 2,378 cases are from Ahmedabad city alone.
