Balrampur (Uttar Pradesh):In a bizarre incident in Uttar Pradesh's Balrampur district, the body of an unidentified man was taken for post-mortem in a municipality garbage vehicle on Thursday. The matter came to light after a video of the inhumane incident went viral on social media platforms.
This comes a day after former Law Minister, Ashwini Kumar, wrote a letter to the Chief Justice of India, requesting to take suo moto notice of the matters pertaining to dignified cremation/burial of the dead bodies to ensure citizens' Right to die with dignity.
According to the reports, locals informed the police about an unidentified body lying on the road near Utraula chowk here. Subsequently, the Utraula police Station House Officer (SHO) R K Raman directed the officials to identify the person. Later, the deceased was identified as Jhinkin, a resident of Shaudaura village which comes under Shadullahnagar police station. The SHO ordered the officials to transport the body of the deceased on the municipality's garbage vehicle.
