62 cases in Kerala, Over 91,000 under observation

Coronavirus cases continued to see a surge in Kerala with 62 people, including 49 returnees from abroad and other states, testing positive on Saturday, while more than 91,000 are under observation. With this addition, the COVID-19 tally in the state has climbed to 794, of whom 275 are presently undergoing treatment at various hospitals.

Chandigarh's COVID-19 tally stands at 225, active cases 43

The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Chandigarh is now 225 including 43 active cases of the infection, as per the Health Department.

"The total number of positive cases in Chandigarh is now 225 including 43 active cases, 179 discharged cases and 3 deaths," said Chandigarh Health Department.

A total of 1,25,101 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in India so far. 51,784 persons have recovered or migrated, the Ministry of Health and Family welfare said on Saturday.

Sikkim reports its first COVID-19 positive case

Sikkim has reported its first positive case of COVID-19, confirmed DG-cum-Secretary Health Dr PT Bhutia on Saturday.

Dr Bhutia said the patient, who tested positive, is a 25-year-old male from South Sikkim.

"He had travelled from New Delhi on May 17 in a private bus till Siliguri. He had then travelled by SNT bus through Melli Checkpost on May 19. He was kept under one of the designated facility quarantine centres in South District," said Dr Bhutia in a press release.

He informed that there were a total of 12 persons in the bus, which comprised three people from South District, and nine from West District.

Dr Bhutia added: "He developed fever and chills on May 21, and was immediately evacuated to COVID-19 STNM Hospital on the morning of May 22. His sample was immediately tested on TrueNat Machine at STNM Hospital. It was reported positive."

Odisha Govt has allowed home delivery of liquor by existing ON & OFF shop licensees of Indian-made foreign liquor & beer, situated outside COVID-19 containment zones from tomorrow. However, no excise licensees have been allowed to sell liquor on their premises.

4 new COVID-19 cases in Himachal Pradesh, state tally at 172

Four new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Himachal Pradesh's Mandi district, as per information provided by Jivanand Chauhan, CMO Mandi.

All four had arrived from Mumbai recently. While one was on home quarantine, the other three were in institutional quarantine.

With four new cases, the total number of positive COVID-19 cases in the state reached 172, including 110 active cases.

With biggest spike of 6,654 cases, India's COVID-19 tally reaches 1,25,101

New Delhi: India witnessed the biggest ever spike of 6,654 positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases to 1,25,101, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

As many as 137 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 3,720.

Out of the total number of cases, 69,597 are active and 51,784 have been cured/discharged or have migrated.

Maharashtra continues to remain the worst-affected state with 44,582 COVID-19 cases. It is followed by Tamil Nadu (14,753), Gujarat (13,268), and Delhi (12,319).

The nationwide lockdown imposed as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of COVID-19 has been extended till May 31.
