Hyderabad:India on Saturday reported 48,268 Covid-19 cases, taking its tally to 81,37,119, while 551 deaths pushed the toll to 1,21,641, according to data from the Union Health Ministry. There are 5,82,649 active cases of the novel coronavirus in the country, while as many as 74,32,829 people have recovered from the disease. This is the first time that the fatality rate has dropped to 1.5 per cent, the health ministry said.

New Delhi:Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot says passengers can travel on all seats of public transport buses from November 1, but none allowed to travel standing; cautions that travellers will have to wear face masks and maintain physical distancing.
The Delhi government has directed all wholesale liquor vends in the city to ensure mandatory use of Aarogya Setu app by their staff, touch-free sanitizer dispenser and other measures against the novel coronavirus.
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Saturday said it is "impossible to wipe off" Covid-19 transmission through a lockdown as the virus has "spread through the community" and people should treat wearing a face mask as a vaccine till the real medication is made available.

Mumbai:The crime branch of Mumbai Police raided a factory at Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh where fake N-95 masks were being manufactured, an official said on Friday. N-95 masks are in great demand since the outbreak of coronavirus.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray managed to fight the Covid-19 situation in the state very well, said Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut here on Saturday. "Pune is the centre of Maharashtra's politics. When Balasaheb Thackeray was there it (centre) was Mumbai but now all important people are in Pune.
Even though some people were thinking this type of government won't be formed but people like me were of the opinion earlier as well that it will be formed. The government has completed one year on October 28," said Raut during a press conference.
