Over 60,975 people tested positive for coronavirus infection in a day, taking country's Covid-19 tally to 31,67,323, while recoveries surged to 24,04,585. Meanwhile, the Sero survey informed that Coronavirus most prevalent among those aged between 5 and 17 in Delhi. Odisha government on Tuesday fixed charge for RT-PCR COVID-19 test in four ICMR-approved labs in Bhubaneswar at Rs 1,200.

Hyderabad: The Health Ministry on Tuesday said though testing for COVID-19 has been increased exponentially, there has been a steady decline in the positivity rate and highlighted that the number of active cases of the infection reduced by 6,423 for the first time within a span of 24 hours. The testing for the disease has been increased from 363 tests per million per day on August 1 to more than 600 tests per million per day at present, the ministry said.

Delhi

New Delhi: Minors aged between 5 and 17 are most exposed to the novel coronavirus in Delhi, according to a serological survey conducted in the city this month. Conducted between August 1 and August 7, the survey, second in the city, showed that 29.1 per cent of the population in the national capital has now developed antibodies against SARS CoV-2.

Maharashtra

Mumbai:Over 1,600 Ganesh mandals in Maharashtra's Parbhani district have not installed idols of the deity during the Ganpati festival this year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. This has been done to avoid crowds and to check the spread of the viral infection in the district, Collector Deepak Muglikar said.

Maharashtra police reported 351 coronavirus cases on Tuesday, the highest single-day rise in cases among its personnel and officers, taking the total number of cases in the police force to 14,067. Three deaths were reported on Monday among the state cops, taking the total fatalities to 142.

Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram:Over 2,300 new active cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in Kerala today as per the Minister of Health, Smt K K Shailaja. Of the cases detected today, 2,142 people were infected through contact and their source was unknown in 174 cases. 61 are returnees from abroad and 118 from other states.

Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: Odisha government on Tuesday fixed charge for RT-PCR COVID-19 test in four ICMR-approved labs in Bhubaneswar at Rs 1,200.

The district administration of Cuttack on Tuesday decided not to allow holding of Durga Puja in any pandal/mandap in Cuttack city in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Karnataka

Bengaluru: Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar has tested positive for COVID-19 and admitted to a private hospital in Rajajinagar, Bengaluru. On Sunday, he had postponed his visit to flood-hit districts in North Karnataka due to ill-health.

Manipur

Imphal: Manipur's social welfare minister Nemcha Kipgen took to Facebook on Tuesday to announce that she has tested positive for COVID-19. She asked all those who came in contact with her recently to get tested as soon as possible. "After getting symptoms of coronavirus, I got myself tested and the report came back positive. I sincerely request all of you who have come in contact with me in the past few days to kindly isolate yourselves and get tested at the earliest," she said on Facebook.
