Hyderabad:According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India reported 442 deaths and the highest single-day spike of 22,771 new COVID19 cases in the last 24 hours. The national capital Delhi recorded 2,505 fresh coronavirus cases on Friday, taking the tally in the city to over 97,000.

Fifty-five fatalities have been recorded in the last 24 hours, the Delhi health department said in a bulletin.
It also said that 26 earlier deaths have been included in the cumulative figure. The bulletin said the death toll from coronavirus infection has risen to 3,004, and the total number of cases mounted to 97,200.
Maharashtra
Pune city mayor Mulridhar Mohol has tested positive for COVID-19. Two days back, Mohol attended a review meeting with Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, CM advisor Ajoy Mehta, Health secretary Pradeep Vyas and other officials.
Meanwhile, one more police personnel died of infection taking the toll to 64. A total of 1,040 personnel are currently undergoing treatment across the state.
Bihar
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi have undergone COVID-19 tests after Awadhesh Narain Singh, the acting chairman of Bihar Vidhan Parishad tested positive for novel coronavirus.
Incidentally, CM Nitish Kumar was in attendance along with senior leaders and state ministers during the oath-taking ceremony of newly elected MLCs on July 1. The elections, which were necessitated upon expiry of terms of nine MLCs, now poses a higher risk of infection spread for the top leadership in coming days.
Rajasthan
The state government is set to include COVID-19 in the school textbooks and the pandemic period will be part of the syllabus in the upcoming years. State health minister Dr Raghu Sharma said that documentation will create awareness regarding best practices and ways to combat COVID-19.
