Meanwhile, Maharashtra has recorded the highest single-day spike in the number of coronavirus cases and fatalities with 5,493 fresh infections and over 156 deaths today.

Hyderabad:According to the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, India recorded the highest single-day spike of 19,906 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours with 410 deaths. Positive cases in India stand at 5,28,859 including 2,03,051 active cases, 3,09,712 cured/discharged/migrated and 16,095 deaths.

Delhi

The number of COVID-19 containment zones in Delhi has risen to 417 after re-mapping of such areas, while around 2.45 lakh people have been screened in a mammoth exercise to check the spread of COVID-19 in the national capital.

The count of containment zones is expected to jump further as the authorities in some districts were yet to complete the task of redrawing such areas following the centre's directions. Before the re-mapping exercise, the number of containment zones was 280 in the city.

Maharashtra

Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday said the lockdown curbs in the state will continue beyond June 30. Thackeray said there will be some restrictions in the state but more relaxations will be offered gradually.

Maharashtra has recorded the highest single-day spike in the number of coronavirus cases and fatalities with 5,493 fresh infections and over 156 deaths today. The worst-hit state in the country has reported 1,64,626 coronavirus cases.

Rajasthan

Dholpur district in the state has been reporting a spike in COVID-19 positive cases. According to reports, about dozen prisoners in the district jail are found to be COVID-19 positive. Over 70 samples were collected three days ago by the prison administration. Total of 20 positive cases have been reported from the prison so far.

Madhya Pradesh

The state government will launch a ''Kill Corona'' campaign from July 1 to control the spread of COVID-19 in the state. During the 15-day campaign, 2.5 lakh tests will be carried out and 15,000 to 20,000 samples would be collected daily.

Under the campaign, the door-to-door survey will be conducted and tests would also be done on citizens for other diseases.

Odisha

The state reported three more COVID-19 fatality, taking the death toll due to the disease to 21 in the state, as 264 more people, including an NDRF jawan, tested positive for the coronavirus, pushing the tally of such cases to 6,614.

Himachal Pradesh

The state education department is all set to kick start online classes from July 1 as the vacation ends on June 30. The decision regarding the regular classes in schools will be taken after accessing the COVID-19 situation. Besides, teachers have been told to prepare for online classes and prepare the requisite material.

Uttarakhand

At least eight people including a resident doctor tested positive for coronavirus in AIIMS Hrishikesh. The number of COVID-19 cases in Uttarakhand rose to 2,823.

Jharkhand

The state reported 66 new COVID- 19 cases on Sunday, taking the tally of confirmed coronavirus cases to 2,360 in the state.
