Hyderabad: With the highest single-day spike of 17,296 COVID-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours, India's COVID-19 count reached 4,90,401 on Friday, said the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). The country also saw 407 deaths in the last 24 hours, which pushed the death toll to 15,301.
Delhi
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain has been tested negative for coronavirus on Friday, a day after he was administered plasma therapy at a private COVID-19 facility. The active cases in the national capital stood at 26,586. While the cured and discharged numbers stood at 44,765. The death toll in the city is 2,429.
Gujarat
A central team, led by Joint Secretary in the Health Ministry Lav Agarwal, visited different areas of Ahmedabad city to review the measures undertaken by the authorities to contain the spread of coronavirus.
The team started its visit from Vasantnagar township in the Gota area of the city, a micro-containment zone, and collected information about the steps taken by the authorities to contain the spread of virus.
The team also understood the functioning of mobile clinic vans, named as 'Dhanvantari Arogya Rath', launched earlier this month by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to conduct health check-up of people and distribute medicines.
Karnataka
The seat of Bengaluru Central Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) has been sealed off after an Assistant sub-inspector of police tested positive for COVID-19. The office will be sealed for over three days.
Pertinently, Malleshwaram traffic police station is also being closed down after head constable tested positive.
Haryana
Thirteen COVID-19 deaths reported in Haryana on Wednesday, with the state's tally of total cases rising to 12,463, the Health Department said.
