Arunachal Guv undergoes test after COVID-19 case found in Raj Bhavan

BJP Senior leader Manikyala Rao dies of COVID
Vijayawada:The senior BJP leader and former minister of Andhra Pradesh Pydikondala Manikyala Rao (59) died of coronavirus in Vijayawada on Saturday. The former minister tested positive for COVID-19 on July 4 following which he was placed under home quarantine. Later he was admitted to the hospital as the symptoms did not subside. His condition deteriorated recently and he succumbed to the disease this afternoon. His last rites would be performed according to Covid-19 norms, doctors said.

47 deaths, 3,807 new coronavirus cases in UP; total count 89,068
Lucknow:Forty-seven more people died from coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday as 3,807 fresh cases took the state’s infection tally to 89,068.
So far, the infection has claimed 1,677 lives in the state, Additional Chief Secretary (Medical and Health) Amit Mohan Prasad told reporters on Saturday.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in the state stands at 89,068, up from Friday’s 85,261, Prasad added.
Prasad further said 51,354 patients have been discharged after treatment, bringing the number of active cases to 36,037 in the state.
He said 93,381 samples were tested on Friday. Till now, over 24.18 lakh samples have been tested in the state, he said.

Total no. of recovered cases in India nearly 11 lakh: Health Ministry
New Delhi:At 2.15%, fatality rate lowest since lockdown, nearly 11 lakh people recovered, informed Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday.
With 36,569 patients discharged in the last 24 hours, the total recoveries have jumped to 10,94,374. The recovery rate stands at 64.53% amongst COVID-19 patients, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Karnataka Agriculture Minister BC Patil, wife and son-in-law test positive for COVID-19
Bengaluru: Karnataka Agriculture Minister BC Patil on Saturday said he and his wife have been under home quarantine after they were tested positive for coronavirus.
In a video message posted on Twitter, the Minister said he and his wife Vanaja were asymptomatic and there was no need for anyone to panic.
He was confident that both of them would recover and would be back to work soon.
Patil had tweeted on Friday night that his son-in-law too has been found infected by the virus.
Prior to Patil, Forest Minister Anand Singh and Tourism Minister C T Ravi had tested positive for COVID-19.
The independent MP from Mandya Sumalatha Ambareesh recovered from coronavirus recently.
Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa too was under self- isolation for some time a couple of weeks ago after a few staff at his office-cum-residence-''Krishna'' were found infected by the virus.
As on Friday, 1.24 lakh people were found COVID positive of which 2,314 people lost their lives and 72,005 are recovering.

Telangana reports 2,083 new COVID-19 cases in record single-day spike
Hyderabad: Telangana reported 2,083 new COVID-19 cases, the highest single-day spike so far, breaching the two thousand mark for the first time, taking the tally of positive cases in the state to 64,786.
With 11 more deaths, the COVID-19 toll in the state rose to 530, a state government bulletin said on Saturday, providing data as of 8 pm on July 31.

Total no. of recovered cases in India nearly 11 lakh: Health Ministry
New Delhi: India on Saturday reported 57,117 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country's coronavirus tally to 16,95,988, said the Union Health Ministry.
As per the health ministry's website, there are 5,65,103 active cases while 10,94,374 patients have been cured/discharged or have migrated.
764 deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported in the last 24 hours across the country, taking the death toll to 36,511.
As per the data provided by the Health Ministry, Maharashtra, the worst affected state from the infection has a total of 1,50,966 active cases and 14,994 deaths.
Tamil Nadu has a total of 57,968 active cases and 3,935 deaths. Andhra Pradesh has a total of 75,720 active cases and 1,349 deaths.
Delhi has a total of 10,705 active cases and 3,963 deaths.
The total number of COVID-19 samples tested up to 31st July is 1,93,58,659 including 5,25,689 samples tested yesterday, said the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Saturday.
