Tamil Nadu: Number of COVID-19 positive cases who attended 'single source' event at Delhi and their contacts today is 47. 

Total number of positive cases in those who attended 'single source' event at Delhi and their contacts till today is 881.

Death toll due to COVID-19 rises to 239; cases climb to 7,447

The death toll due to the novel coronavirus rose to 239 and the number of cases to 7,447 in the country on Saturday, according to the Union Health Ministry.

While the number of active COVID-19 cases is 6,565, as many as 642 people were cured and discharged and one had migrated, it said.

As many as 33 new deaths have been reported since Friday evening, the ministry said.

Seventeen deaths were reported from Madhya Pradesh, 13 from Maharashtra, two from Gujarat and one from Assam, it said.

Maharashtra has reported the most coronavirus deaths at 110, followed by Madhya Pradesh at 33, Gujarat at 19 and Delhi at 13.  

Punjab registered 11 deaths while Tamil Nadu has reported eight fatalities and Telengana seven.

Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka have reported six deaths each while West Bengal has registered five deaths each.

Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh have reported four deaths each while Haryana and Rajasthan have recorded three deaths each.

Two deaths have been reported from Kerala. Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand and Assam reported one fatality each, according to the health ministry data.

The 7,447 figure includes 71 foreign nationals. The death toll on Friday evening was 206.

There has been a lag in the Union Health Ministry figures, compared to the number of cases announced by different states, which officials attribute to procedural delays in assigning the cases to individual states.

According to the ministry's data updated in the morning, the highest number of confirmed cases in the country are from Maharashtra at 1574, followed by Tamil Nadu at 911 and Delhi at 903.

In last 24 hrs 1,593 tests conducted, out of which 1187 cases are negative & 124 are positive, 282 are pending.

Ahmedabad & Vadodara are most infected with 228 & 77 cases respectively.

Madhya Pradesh: 14 more positive cases found in Indore, total positive cases here now stand at 249.

Death toll so far in Indore is 30. 12 people were discharged yesterday after they recovered,a total of 29 people so far.

Kerala:3rd COVID-19 death reported in Kerala - a 71-years-old native of Puducherry's Mahe diedat Pariyaram Medical College in Kannur. 

He was in very critical condition and his kidneys were not functioning. He was on ventilator for the last few days.

2 fresh COVID-19 cases in Odisha, 10 patients recover

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has reported two fresh COVID-19 positive cases taking the total number to 50, while 10 coronavirus patients have recovered in the state, an
official of the Health and Family Welfare department said on Saturday.

Two more persons tested positive and 10 recovered on Friday, the official said, adding that that the state presently has 37 active COVID-19 cases.

One person has so far succumbed to COVID-19 and a total of have recovered so far.

The cumulative tests in the state stand at 3,547 out of which 50 have tested positive, the department said.

Ten COVID-19 patients have recovered and tested negative for the virus, the department said in a tweet on Friday. Five of them are from Bhubaneswar, two from Bhadrak and one each of Cuttack, Jajpur and Puri, the Health department said in its official twitter post.

Chief Secretary A K Tripathy congratulated the doctors and paramedical staff on the complete recovery of the 10 patients in one day.

"Excellent news! Congratulations to Health Department Team and all the doctors and para-medics!!," Tripathy said.
