Surganj(Chattisgarh): With the Covid-19 pandemic creating a great deal of uncertainity and disruption for the people, many financial instiatutions have come to the fore to extend help to the common masses. Setting a bernchmark in this crisis, bank associates of Surguja District Administration are providing wages and pension to the elderly people ensuring that their needs are fulfilled. Associates of the bank are also providing money to the beneficiaries of Jan Dhan account for their help.
However, it is made sure that the administration is following the required guidelines related to social distancing and sanitation. Providing help to about nine thousand people in the district, associates of the bank have distributed one crore forty-one lakh to a total of 8,905 beneficiaries.

While speaking to ETV Bharat, District Collector Saransh Mittal said,"In order to ensure that people don't face difficulties during the lockdown period, NREGA workers are working. Around 4,000 workers are involved to ensure that people don't face financial crisis.
He went on to add further,"Workers are not even required to go the banks to withdraw the cash. Bank associates are going door to door to deliver cash to NREGA workers.
"We are taking special care that social distancing norms are being followed in all areas to save the rural areas from financial crunch. Efforts are also being made to maintain economic and social co-ordination to fight against Covid-19. Bankers are making sure that needy people get all the essential facilities",added Mittal.
