Coronavirus update: Kolkata airport authority denies media reports of two positive cases

The Kolkata airport authority has claimed the media reports of shifting three coronavirus infected persons to a hospital as "baseless" and informed that they are not tested "positive". Earlier, media reports claim that three persons have been shifted to Beliaghata ID Hospital due to Coronavirus.

Kolkata: The Kolkata airport authority has claimed the media reports of shifting three coronavirus infected persons to a hospital as "baseless" and informed that they are not tested "positive".

Earlier, media reports claim that three persons tested positive in the Coronavirus test and have been shifted to Beliaghata ID Hospital on Thursday.

Talking to ETV Bharat Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr Asis Manna informed, "Neither of passenger has been detected with novel coronavirus infection nor shifted to an isolation ward."

On Thursday, media reports claimed, "Two passengers, who arrived at Kolkata international airport from Bangkok, have been placed in isolation for suspected novel coronavirus."

The novel coronavirus which was originated from Wuhan province in China, took over 14,000 lives in the country. Across the world, it has been reported in 24 countries, including India. Earlier, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus outbreak a global epidemic.
